Recipe Share

Back to the app

Last updated: August 2, 2026

These are the rules for using Recipe Share. They are written plainly and kept short, for the same reason the privacy policy is — rules nobody reads protect nobody.

The short version: the app is free, you own what you write, the nutrition numbers are estimates and not medical advice, and only share what you have the right to share.

Using the app means you accept what is on this page. If you don't, please don't use it.

1 · What Recipe Share is

Recipe Share is a free web app for keeping a food library, tracking what you eat, and sharing recipes. It is an independent app built and run by one person in Orange County, New York. It is not a company product, it has no investors, and nobody is paid to work on it.

There is no guarantee it will keep running. It is a personal project. If it ever shuts down, notice will be posted in the app so you can back your data up first — but treat your own backups as the real safety net.

2 · Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use Recipe Share. The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them, which is also what the privacy policy says.

If you are under 18, please use the app with a parent or guardian's permission — especially the parts that track what you eat and what you weigh.

We do not ask your age. If we learn that someone under 13 has been using the app, we will delete what we hold for that account.

3 · The nutrition numbers are estimates

Every calorie, macro and ingredient number in this app is an estimate. Some come from the USDA's public food database. Others are produced by AI reading a photo of a label or a recipe — and AI gets things wrong, sometimes confidently. Treat every number as a starting point, not a fact.

The best thing you can do is photograph the label. When a packaged food has a nutrition label, taking a photo of it gives the app the manufacturer's own figures to work from instead of a general estimate for that kind of food. It is the most accurate result this app can give you — and it is still an AI reading a photograph, so everything on this page still applies.

This app is not medical, nutritional or dietary advice. If you have a food allergy, an intolerance, a medical condition, or you are managing your diet on a doctor's instruction, talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian before relying on anything here.

Never use this app to decide whether a food is safe for you to eat. An AI reading of an ingredients list can miss an allergen, misread a word, or skip a line entirely. Read the actual package.

The same goes for the goals feature. You can set calorie and macro targets in the app, and the app will show you how a day compares to them. It does not know anything about you, your health, or whether those targets are right for you. Choosing them is your decision, and a doctor or dietitian is the right person to help you make it.

4 · Your account and your data

An account here has no name and no password — just a random ID and a secret key your phone stores. If you want free credits, or if you buy a credit pack, we ask for an email address at that point, ask you to confirm it by tapping a link we send, and attach it to the same account; each address can be used for one account. Nothing else in the app requires one. Keep your device backed up; if you lose it and have no backup, there is no way for us to recover your food library or your tracker, because we never had a copy. The privacy policy explains exactly what lives on your phone and what reaches our server.

You are responsible for what happens through your account. Don't use the app to break the law, to attack or overload the service, or to get around its limits — including the limits on free AI actions.

5 · You own what you write

Your recipes are yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you write.

When you choose to share a recipe, you give us permission to store it, to show it to anyone who opens your link, and to use it in Recipe Share — including elsewhere in the app and in anything Recipe Share publishes. This permission is not limited to the link you sent.

Recipes you never share are not covered by any of this. They stay on your phone.

If you ask us to delete a recipe you shared, we will remove it. That removes the shared copy and stops the link working. It cannot reach a copy somebody already saved to their own phone.

6 · What you may not share

When you share a recipe through this app, you are saying you have the right to share what is in it. Please don't share:

Copyright complaints

If you believe a recipe shared through this app copies your work, write to our designated agent and we will remove it: Perry Medina, 266 Concord Lane, Middletown, New York 10940, (845) 537-0131, recipeshare.help@gmail.com.

It helps to include enough detail to find it — the link, what was copied, and where your original lives.

We can remove any shared recipe, and we can stop an account from sharing, if something on this list is being ignored.

7 · Credits, and money

Recipe Share itself is free. There are no subscriptions and no ads. Everything that is not AI is free and always will be.

Some features use AI, which costs real money to run, so those are metered with "credits." Every new account gets a free allowance, and there are ways to earn more without paying.

If you buy a credit pack: the payment is taken by Stripe on their own page — we never see or store your card details. The credits are added to your account straight away. Sales tax, where it applies, is added on top of the listed price and shown as its own line before you pay.

Credit packs are delivered immediately and are not refundable. The one exception is not ours to give: our payment provider can issue a refund in certain cases of its own — for example within a set period after purchase, or where local consumer-protection rules require it — and we honour any refund it makes. If something goes wrong at our end — you were charged twice, or the credits never arrived — email recipeshare.help@gmail.com and we will put it right.

Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money. They stay on your account for as long as the account exists; they do not expire on a timer. If you ask us to delete your account, any credits on it go with it and are not refunded.

8 · The app is provided as it is

Recipe Share is offered as it stands, with no promises that it will be available, accurate, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. It is a personal project, not a supported product.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using it — including lost data, a wrong nutrition number, or the app being unavailable. Some places do not allow all of those limits; where that is the case, this section applies as far as it legally can and no further.

Nothing on this page limits liability for anything that cannot legally be limited.

9 · Stopping

You can stop using Recipe Share whenever you like. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings erases everything on your phone, and you can ask us to delete what we hold — the privacy policy §6 explains how.

We may suspend or remove an account that is breaking these terms, abusing the free AI allowance, or putting the service at risk. If it is anything other than clear abuse, we will try to reach you first.

10 · Changes to these terms

If these terms change, this page changes with them and the date at the top moves. If a change matters — anything about money, ownership of what you write, or what we hold — it will be flagged in the app rather than quietly edited here.

11 · Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Recipe Share is run from Orange County, New York.

12 · Getting in touch

Two ways, both reaching the same place:

Please don't include medical or health details in a message. We don't need them, and the message box is the one place where something you type does reach our server.
